Your Bridal Hair & Makeup Trial
hannah hennessy
We are here already! If your a 2024 bride then this is your year. I have been booking my brides in for their trials this week and it’s got me back in the zone of all things weddings and I’m SO excited about this year already.
If your one of my brides this year I wanted to list a few tips on how to prepare for your trial:
Pre Trial
Get pinning on Pinterest. Don’t go wild and try to stick to a handful of images. Remember that many images these days are photoshopped or edited. So take it all with a pinch of salt. Your Pinterest will give me an idea of what you’re envisioning. Include a photo of your dress if you can.
If you’re thinking of having a spray tan on your wedding day then have one for your trial too.
Bridesmaids and guests: if they are booked in for their hair and makeup too then discuss with them and get some images of what they would like. Being prepared for the morning is very important and ensures we can keep to a schedule.
Complete your consultation card, I send this to you via email and it is attached to your booking confirmation.
Have a think about if your hair style needs hair extensions, you can rent these from me and we can colour match you at your trial.
Book a meal or a date night for after your trial - don’t let all that beautiful hair and makeup go to waste!
The day of your trial
Have your makeup bag ready. A little insight to your favourite products and your makeup routine can give me a good starting point when planning your makeup.
Have your veil or hair accessories with you.
Wear something the same colour as your outfit. Makeup can look different against different colours.
Have a makeup free face but have some images of yourself with your usual makeup style handy so that whatever we create, it still looks like you!
Washing your hair the evening before your trial usually works best, but at this stage you know your hair better than me so please do what feels comfortable for your hair type.
Your trial typically takes 2-3 hours and isn’t a rushed process. I make notes throughout the session and take lots of photos for reference.
I am predominantly mobile and therefore I come to your home for your trial. If this isn’t suitable then we can discuss other options.
Your trial is meant to be fun! Enjoy every bit of it and ask as many questions as you need. Make sure you’re happy with everything you have discussed and trialled before leaving.
