Day in the life of a mobile nail tech

Reminder to my self.

I wanted to remind myself what the normal routine is for Us, Me, My Family. As I'm sure as hell not in any kind of routine right now! My girls start school this September, so I am sure it will change again slightly when that time comes. But untill then this is how life was..

6:30am Get Up! My day starts early with getting the girls ready for their childminder. Breakfast - Coffee - Upload an Instagram (essentials 😂) - Shower - Get Dressed - Put both the girls things and my kit in the car - Drive! This takes us up to about 8:30am which is the time we need to leave the house by. If I haven't sorted my kit the night before then that rocks the boat, so i try to be organised to make a smooth morning.

9:30am - After dropping the girls off at their childminder I drive straight to my first appointment which usually starts at around 9:30am untill possibly 11am - By now I've normally finished my first client, disinfected and wiped over my kit/tools and packed away ready for appointment number 2.  At this time I'll normally check in on my phone for any updates form the girls/a quick social media scroll.

11:30am - Appointment number 2! I try to keep my appointments close together so I'm not driving too far and can fit more people in. Depending on what my clients have I can be with them from 1.5 - 3 or 4 hours.

1pm - Lunch if I'm lucky haha! To be honest I don't tend to book my self in a lunch which is REALLY bad, as I always suffer and get really grumpy by 3pm! So new business resolution - book in a Lunch ALWAYS!

130pm/2pm - Appointment number 3! Which takes me to 3/330pm. Leaving enough time to drive and pick the girls up! 4pm is pick up time for the little ladies.

By 4:30pm we are home. I start dinner, normally eating by 5pm. (Reminder to start slow cooking dinners, that would save time) Rich comes home from work around 5:20pm. 630pm/7pm - I like to spend time with the girls untill I'm back out for my evening appointments.

At the moment I'm only working three days a week, so I have a good work life balance. I have been known to be out untill 11pm some nights. It really depends on what Ive got booked in and where I'm driving too. If I have a late night one night I try not to be out too late the next night. Once I'm home I'll organise the kit ready for the next day ready to do it all again!

This whole covid19 business has made me realise not only how much I'm working but also how much I love my job. I was starting to forget what I actually used to do on a daily basis! Being mobile works for me and my clients, no two days are the same and i love how flexible I can be with my diary. I am keeping my fingers crossed for July, that we can reopen and get back to painting fabulous nails, instead of my house 😂🥴
